In April of 2007, Marcia G. Yerman curated The Feminist Figure for the Forum Gallery in New York City.
The exhibit was conceived in conjunction with The Feminist Art Project, a nationwide initiative celebrating the aesthetic,
intellectual, and political impact of women on the visual arts.
The group show featured twenty works by contemporary women artists who explored issues including identity, aging, self-perception, and the environment,
They were: Micaela Amato, Lena Cronqvist, Lesley Dill, Kim Dingle, Diane Edison, Martha Mayer Erlebacher, Kathleen Gilje, Susan Hauptman, Julie Heffernan, Deb King, Holly Lane,
Jane Lund, Diana Moore, Irene Hardwicke Olivieri, Verónica Riedel, Aminah Brenda Lynn Robinson, Lezley Saar, Esther Shimazu, Kiki Smith, and Maria Tomasula.
A forty-eight page full-color catalogue, with a foreword by Gloria Steinem and essay by Ms. Yerman, accompanied the exhibition.
